About us

The Wee Music School began in 2021 as the Wee String School, co-founded by Aden Mazur. By combining private teaching practices into one school, we immediately enhanced the education offered to our students. This consolidation allowed us to introduce a more well-rounded curriculum, which included dedicated music theory classes and online workshops focused on fiddle playing.

Since that time, our teaching team has expanded significantly, allowing us to introduce popular classes in music history and offer specialised composition sessions. We continued to grow the string department, adding teachers for cello and double bass. This development enabled us to provide instruction in all key string instruments, complemented by our expanding class schedule and regular student performances.

In 2024, we successfully expanded and rebranded to become the Wee Music School. We have welcomed numerous new teachers, bringing expertise across a wide range of instruments, including strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, guitar, piano and singing.

We are delighted to have this exceptional team of dedicated educators helping us deliver high-quality music tuition to our community.

Lessons also take place at our teachers' and pupils' homes, subject to availability. Please contact us and let us know what works best for you, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Local Groups

There are lots of opportunities to make music together with other people. The best place to find these is on the Music Aberdeen website. Co-founded by Wee Music School Director Aden Mazur in 2022, this resource will help you keep up to date with what’s going on in and around Aberdeen.

For youth music-making, Aden is also the coordinator of the Aberdeen City Orchestra’s Youth Ensembles. You can find more information about these here.

You might find some other familiar Wee Music School faces are involved with these groups, too!"
